Customs now and then

Centuries of traditions and customs are maintained with love and pride in and around the Alpe di Siusi. Even today typical nation dress is worn for special occasions and numerous bands accompany many traditional celebrations. Those who would like to find out more about the rural culture can visit the Bauernmuseum (Rural Museum) in Sant'Osvaldo. A particular highlight is the recreated “Castelrotto Rural Wedding” with the traditional feast.

And don’t forget the traditional Osterpecken – basically conkers played with hard-boiled eggs – the alphorn concert, the many processions, rural weddings and the Moidnpfeifen to welcome in the month of May.
